How We Handle Personal Data
We take the utmost precautions to protect your data. If we collect data from you via our website, an email or a landing page, it’s strictly for the purpose of conducting business with you or your company or sending you information for which you have subscribed or which we believe will be beneficial to your company’s digital marketing initiatives. The more we know about you and your company’s needs, the better we can serve you and tailor information to those needs. So, we may ask for information such as: your name, company name, email address, industry in which you work, information about the Salesforce products you use, and your phone number if you have indicated you want someone to contact you from Genetrix.
Your Information is Never Shared, Sold or Rented
We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information without your advance permission, unless ordered by a court of law. Information submitted to us is only available to employees responsible for managing this data for the purposes of contacting you or sending you e-mails based on your preferences.
Tracking of Information
Genetrix may use your IP address for the following purposes:
- To diagnose web server issues
- To administer our website
- To track browsers used by our visitors
- To track visits to various pages on our website (e.g., through use of third-party services such as Google Analytics or Lead Forensics).
If you opt in to receive emails from Genetrix, or if you request someone from Genetrix to contact you, we will capture the data necessary to do so. Once you have opted in to receive information from Genetrix, you will also be able to opt-out (unsubscribe) at any time by updating your preferences or modifying your profile link found at the bottom of each email.
Web Beacons
Genetrix includes a "web beacon" in the footer of all of our emails. This allows us to determine what email format a subscriber can receive (HTML or text), whether an email has been opened or if it has bounced. The web beacon is simply a 1px X 1px transparent .gif image that is activated when an HTML email is opened via a request for the image on our servers. The web beacon does not collect any personally identifiable information. If you do not want to receive email messages with web beacons, you can choose to receive non-HTML (text only) emails.
We also utilize link tracking in all of our emails to determine when a URL in the email has been clicked, how many times it was clicked, as well as the aggregate number of links clicked. This click tracking does not collect any personally identifiable information.
Cookies
Client-side cookies may be used to verify the login status of customers using products or services linked directly with our website. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site; however, the user may not be able to access all areas of our site.
Links to Third-party Websites
While we diligently strive to provide the highest-quality third-party information from our website, Genetrix is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any other websites, articles, or blogs to which we link.
Email Permission Policy
Genetrix Technology. also provides email marketing services on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Pardot as part of its service offing to clients. These web-based platforms enable businesses to send permission-based emails to their subscribers. Genetrix believes in the tenets of permission-based email marketing. Our client members may only use Marketing Cloud (or any other Salesforce products) to send emails to customers and prospects that have agreed to receive email from them. Both Genetrix and Salesforce forbid the transmission of unsolicited commercial email (Spam) via any Salesforce platform or system.
If our members choose to use an external opt-in list of email addresses, we require those companies to supply the source of the names and email addresses, and the method used to capture the data to Genetrix. The manner in which the names were captured is important when responding to subscriber complaints that we or Salesforce may receive. We also encourage our clients to respect their customers’ time and attention by controlling the frequency of mailings to individual email addresses and honoring opt-out requests quickly.
Types and Frequency of Emails
Genetrix generally sends our subscribers a monthly newsletter with relevant topics pertaining to digital marketing and industry trends. We may occasionally send emails relating to important industry news (such as current virus, spam, phishing, or ransomware alerts and how our subscribers can protect themselves and their companies), Genetrix news releases, additional products and services we feel would benefit your company’s digital and multi-channel marketing initiatives, information related to marketing for your industry, special event notifications, holiday greetings, etc.
